指管理實驗動物的單位，惟各國可能使用不同的名稱，包含實驗動物照護及使用委員會（Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee， IACUC）、動物倫理委員會（Animal Ethics Committee，AEC）、動物研究委員會（Animal Research Committee，ARC）、動物照護委員會（Animal Care Committee，ACC），我國採用的名稱為「實驗動物照護及使用委員會」。依據我國「實驗動物照護及使用委員會或小組設置及管理辦法」（行政院農業委員會，2018），進行動物科學應用之機構，應組成實驗動物照護及使用委員會或小組；由三人以上組成，其中應包括獸醫師及非隸屬於該機構之人士（簡稱外部委員，應優先由非動物實驗研究背景者擔任，且不得具獸醫師資格）各一人以上。

The IACUC (or institutional equivalent) is responsible for assessment and oversight of the institution’s Program components and facilities. It should have sufficient authority and resources (e.g., staff, training, computers and related equipment) to fulfill this responsibility.
